NeoSeeker does it better

First WKC was brand new to the US so a guide was needed for the armor tables, best quests for drops, stats, loot, combat, etc. Honestly, it's a lot faster for me to hit NeoSeeker for a direct answer than to thumb through the 100+ pages in the guide. The chapters are generic (ie - 'equip a weapon before entering combat') and dont break down into details how to really optimize your class.
One thing this guide does well is give you the breakdown on where to find all the Elder gear for your knight
And the requirements for unlocking/solving the errands.
If you're brand new to WKC series, this will get you combat-ready. If you want the nitty gritty on what to expect after you finish the single player and continue on with guild ranks, gear and levels on GeoNet, NeoSeeker's wikia is lightyears better.

White Knight Chronicles II Strategy Guide

This is a pretty good guide. A lot of information is packed in this manual. Although no strategy guide is perfect, this one is pretty good. It has some redeeming qualities.

WHAT IS IN THE GUIDE
I will not bother too much with what is not here or what is 'wrong' with the guide. That being said, here is what is in the book.

Walkthrough
A very nice walkthrough of WKCII's story mode. The first game's walkthrough may be accessed from Brady Games' website, so it says.

Skills
These are listed in charts in the order the skills are listed in game. Direct prerequisites are listed, as well as the Skill Point and Magic Point costs. There is a nice overview of the skills.

Bestiary
Wow. Item drops are listed by the beasty that drops the item.

Equipment
All here, arranged alphabetically. I am certain if these were listed some other way some people would complain. There are pictures of each armor and weapon.

Items
All of the items are listed by type: Ores, Fossils, Crystals, Timber, Lumber, Flowers, Cotton, Mushrooms and Insects. Next are the monster drops by monster type. Then enhancement materials and finally Other materials.

I only listed the major parts of the guide. It has a lot of information in it. I found this guide to be very useful. Did you know, if you see yellow butterflies there may be a special gather point nearby? I used to only look for the starry trees and stuff.

Anyway, while no strategy guide is perfect, this one is pretty good. White Knight Chronicles II is a big game and a lot of fun. This guide is quite helpful.

Brady cheaped out. WKC1 info non-existant; bestiary woefully inadequate

The WKC2 game disc includes a revamped version of WKC1 (original story, but using the WKC2 game mechanics). Brady took the cheap route and rather than including everything in this guide, they only include the WKC2 half of the stuff & hosted WKC1 eGuide PDF, with the URL printed in the WKC2 guide for you visit to download it. There are 2 major problems with this approach:
1. The printed URL no longer works, meaning if you're new to WKC, this guide will be useless for your first half of the game.
2. The bestiary in this guide only lists the enemies that make their first appearance in WKC2 & doesn't include enemies that originally appeared in WKC1. The problem here is that quite a few enemies have undergone major changes - physical attack type weaknesses/resistances, item drop rates, status ailment resistances, & some have even had their elemental attributes reversed.

Aside from the 2 major flaws above, there are the standard guide issues - typos, misprints, occasional chest with mislabeled contents, etc and lack of in-depth game mechanic/strategy coverage (IMO, it doesn't cover staggers & breaks nearly well enough; I don't remember it even mentioning break drops). It does have a few redeeming qualities that allow it to barely squeak by with a 3 star rating:
1. The WKC2 story walkthrough is actually pretty helpful (granted you won't need it for most of the story).
2. The Rift maps are great for deciding which rifts are worth exploring & what order to do them in (varies depending upon your preference).
3. The skill tree, bounty, & errand sections are great for reference.
4. It does a great job of covering precisely how equipment weight affects your speed (the in-game tutorial just mentions heavier stuff is slower & doesn't give the exact details).

What the guide does have is useful, but it irritates me that the only reason this guide isn't great is because Brady decided to cheap out and not make the effort, so I feel that giving it 3 stars is being quite generous.

Poor product description

Don't misunderstand - these are all fine classic children's books. My problem is that I thought the collection contained ALL Noel Streatfeild "Shoe" books. After all, directly under the title, Oxford Children's Classics (10 book set) is the sole author name: Noel Streatfeild. I was so disappointed when they arrived - it was supposed to be a Christmas present and I wasn't able to give it because the child had already read many of the books in this collection other than the ONE "Shoe" book included in the set. I should have returned it but kept it instead, broke the set up, and am saving it for grandchildren. Please enhance the description to clearly describe the collection as an offering from various authors including, but not solely by, Noel Streatfeild.

A classic and rightly so

Like many, I first read Flambards in the 80s, after seeing the PBS show.

I had in common with Christina a love of horses, dark hair, and plumpness, and I always felt an identification with her. But I also loved the story, and the characters.

Rereading this as an adult, it is very close to as good as I remember. It is a historical fiction that does not make history more beautiful; the "good ol' days" were smelly, socially stratified and cruel as well as romantic and exciting.

I had thought this was just about The Marriage of Figaro of books, in that I could find no mistakes and everything meshed. But rereading as an adult, I found two plot holes that bothered me. (spoiler!) Why was the servant Mary redoing Christina's clothing when Christina was trained as a dressmaker and she knows Mary is overworked? And while it is a big, big part of the story that Will is deeply upset by how the underclasses are treated, he chooses not to help the groom, Dick, when he is fired. Will could just as easily save Dick as he does a seemingly doomed horse, through the resources of the kind, educated, and rich Mr. Dermot, but he doesn't. The only reason, sad to say, is that Dick has to come back and exact revenge.

On the other hand, the revenge is so good, and is used so well to illustrate social mores of the time, and to show Christina's compassion and confusion, it turns out that I would not have the book without that scene.

One thing I love about all of Peyton's writing, is that it feels so real to me, so right there. The time period (1908-WWI) is not one I know a lot about, but the way she describes the sounds, the feel of the air, the scent of the horses and the outdoors, makes me feel as if I am in the time and place she describes. It is beautiful writing and there are certain paragraphs I read again and again just for the luxury of them.

The heart of this book, for me, is Christina's internal monologues. Her trying to make sense of her continually changing surroundings in a time of huge and rapid change is beautifully done and timeless.

I've purchase this book because my friend and I are thinking in starting making homemade soaps to sell. Of course I'm also going to use the soaps myself and give as a gift too. This book shows soap making techinques with an easy to follow step by step instructions guide on how to make natural homemade soaps, it's full of pictures, it gives you lot's of resources and suppliers, recipes and a list of tools you need in order to make soaps. If you want to sell, give the soaps you make as a gift to someone or even use yourself, this book is for you. It's a short book but full of great information, it's a must read!

I have always been interested in making soaps for gift giving but never had a clue at what goes into it. This book actually shows you several methods so that you can use the simple, easy methods or gives you the opportunity to go more in depth and really have complete control about what goes into your product. There are several recipes along with a listing of tools you possibly will need. Im glad that I read this book before I tried to do this project on my own, there was a lot of information that you would definitely want to know

Author does an excellent job of breaking down the methods of making soap and provides a step-by-step process for making them, which for me, is absolutely critical, for i knew nothing about making soaps.

There are some great recipes and a great section on fragrance and oil combinations that were nice know about.
