Realistic photos of real rocks!

I love this book as the photos of the rocks and minerals are realistic to what most samples you see are! I have a couple other books, but the photos in them are unrealistic. In other words, the photos in those other books are of samples that are perfect and musuem quality, not ones that you'd see in the field. This book gives you realistic photos of realistic samples! Very informative too!

Great rock and mineral guide

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend and I wasn't disappointed. Plenty of good information on basic geology and fantastic identification pictures of everything from common rocks to beautiful examples of crystals and gems. I found myself using it to identify every pebble and rock in my still life objects box accurately, which helps a lot in titling still lifes paintings.

Good field guide for a layman. Explains the scientific terminology well and doesn't presume you're already familiar with it. Not a pocket guide but wonderful once you come home with small pebbles and digital pictures of boulders, explains everything.

About the Author
Barbara Czarniawska is Professor of Management Studies at GRI, School of Business, Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Doctor honoris causa at Stockholm School of Economics, Copenhagen Business School and Helsinki School of Economics, she is a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, the Swedish Royal Engineering Academy, the Royal Society of Art and Sciences in Gothenburg and Societas Scientiarum Finnica. Czarniawska takes a feminist and constructionist perspective on organizing, recently exploring the connections between popular culture and practice of management, and the organization of the news production. She is interested in methodology, especially in techniques of fieldwork and in the application of narratology to organization studies.

Good textbook for class

Was my text book for a class. I could highlight in four different colors, bookmark, make notecards and study them, look a my highlights from previous pages, etc. It was quite easy to navigate through the book. The book was a lot cheaper than renting from the university and I was able to set the rental for the last day of the semester to return it. The downside I would say was sometimes the Kindle for PC app that I downloaded it on did funky things. A couple times I had to remove the program and reinstall it on my laptop, which was frustrating. I also was disappointed I couldn't read it on my Kindle paperwhite or my tablet because the book wasn't supported on that format.

Not unless you're a junkie for overly complicated sentence structure.

I don't know what to say other than I hate it- and I'm a techie! The subject matter (one I'm totally interested in by the way) was very hard to follow. Dull and lifeless. I couldn't believe that chapter after chapter this book failed to capture my attention, and I found myself becoming distracted...again and again. I put it down for a while and started reading another book by another author concerning the same subject and was almost immediately IMMERSED. I'd read through 6 chapters before I realized what I'd done. I'm guessing it's the writing styles that differ so much.

Jason Pipho, or Krisjian to his friends is the rarest of teachers. Unlike anyone out there he tells you to go inside and pay attention to you. 99.9% of the world seems fixated on the world outside, while Krisjian has gone the opposite way. He learned over many years how to remove his attention from the external world and place it on the internal world. In doing so he had an amazing transformation. What some would call enlightenment, he says is our birthright. He has nothing to fix you because you are not broken. Rather, he simply gets you to go inside and start turning on the lights. His book, “Unfixyou”, is a starting point for most to stop trying to find themselves outside of themselves. Sounds funny to say but that is what the entire world is doing. He simply points that out to his students and gets them to stay in the sensations of their bodies. His work and mission are profound! His students have amazing transformations as he literally teaches people how to turn off thinking. By doing so you bypass the filter, your brain, that has kept you in self bondage for eons. His energetic abilities are considered astounding by many but as he is quick to point out, “Everyone has these abilities. They simply forgot because they are thinking. Miracles are our birthright, not miracles.”

Path to Eden and my true self

This is my third time reading Jason Pipho's Unfixyou and I am realizing how deep and true Jason's messages are every time I read it.

As he put it, `How deep down the rabbit hole are you willing to go?'

To improve myself, increase my capacity in business and life, or find my true self, etc., I have studied from Mr. Robbins, Landmark, the Secret, Buddhism, ThetaHealing®, etc., etc., and Jason's writing is different from others. Although, initially it appeared to be similar to some others, it's in a different dimension/paradigm.

Many other programs deal with a level of thinking/belief/conviction and they teach different techniques to delete or change the so called `limiting' beliefs at a conscious or subconscious level to make things better. And, indeed, they did work for me to `improve' my thinking, hence results. I'm thankful to all of them. However, after reading this book, I know that they are dealing in the world of thinking - the world after Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge (= thinking).

This book shows the reader a way to go back to the world before the Tree of Knowledge, Eden. He explains how we have been `breaking' the perfection we already are, and how `fixing' ourselves actually break us even more.

Jason introduces simple exercises that individuals can do to be one's true self. He also writes specific instructions on meditation to quiet the mind/thinking.

After practicing those exercises, many things about me are changing and people are noticing the changes. In Jason's words, "All changes take place in the internal world and then the external world will change as if by magic." This book shows a way to meet the true, perfect self that, "was always there" and takes us back to Eden where we belong.
