Love in Bloom: The Bradens - Jake's story is here!

Again Melissa does not disappoint! Fans of her books are cheering with the release of another book in the Love in Bloom series.
Readers of The Bradens will be so happy that Jake finally has his story told! Jake and Fiona, get their second chance, thanks to some "help" and I am so happy. Oh course along the way, there are obstacles that must be overcome. We watch Jake and Fiona grow up and become mature and not afraid to face their feelings for each other. We follow them from Trusty to Los Angeles as things start to sizzle.

Smashingly great read!

What can I say but Smashing!! You never forget your first love. Some are lucky enough to get a second chance with their first love.
Jake and Fiona get that chance after breaking down walls that Jake has built around his heart after Fiona broke it 16 years ago. Fiona has always been in love with Jake. Jake has always loved Fiona even tho after she broke his heart he has hated her. Fiona decides she needs to take a leap of faith and try to break down Jake's walls.
They come together and find out that they are still as good together as they ever were but Fiona has to decide if she can live in Jake's new life or should she go back to her's and try a long distance relationship with him. They both decide what is most important in their lives and make big changes to make each others happiness a reality.
I was so excited to start reading Jake and Fiona's story that I read it in one day. I love it when you get a second chance with your first love. Sometimes it takes work and compromise but in the end it is all worth it. Jake seemed so angry in his brothers stories that I was excited to see him get his shot a love again. To find his happily ever after.
I Love that Danica and Blake and Kailey from Sisters in Love make an appearance along with Treat, Max, Rex, and Jade. This book can be read as a stand alone but this reader thinks you should start at the beginning of the Love in Bloom series with Sisters in Love. Characters make appearances from one story to the next and it helped me know and understand each one and how they got to where they are in their lives. You will not be disappointed with this book or the entire Love in Bloom series. The story flows well and gives you hope that you never know what could happen with a long lost love.

First Love Reunited

I really loved "the one that got away" aspect of this story. As someone who married her high school sweetheart, and is still married to him more than 20 years later, I can tell you it's not always an easy thing. I liked that Jake brought up that he and Fionna would not have necessarily lasted if they had stayed together. That they had to go through some growing up on their own in order to realize what was and was not meant to be.
I really, really, really expected there to be a typical blown out of proportion misunderstanding in this one, even though that is not Melissa Fosters usual M.O. It was just, with Jake's lifestyle, it seemed inevitable. Sure, there was some strife. Would it be worth reading if it was all easy street? Probably not. But it didn't get ridiculous.
The one thing that did get ridiculous was the extent of Jake's fame. I didn't get that. I would be VERY hard pressed to give you the name of a stuntman, no matter who he does stunts for or how good looking he may be. That just seemed odd. Yet Fionna's friend, Trish, had been nominated for an Oscar and wasn't as known as Jake? Strange. And it annoyed me that the author used names very similar to real-life celebrity names (Megan Flexx: dark hair, pouty lips, sultry) and movie names that are really similar to real movies. It bothered me because I really like Foster's books and this struck me as laziness. Almost like she put these names in as fillers as she was writing and forgot to go back and come back with better fictional names. In fact, this annoyed me so much I almost knocked a star off of my rating.
All in all, this was another great romance.
